Ik heb een fascinatie voor vrouwen die hun haar in een knal kleur durven te verven. Daarom ben ik deze gekleurde haren gaan fotograferen en is het colour project ontstaan. De bijzondere haar kleur link ik aan een plant in mijn tuin.

Red.
Als ik in Amsterdam uit een steeg stap, komt ze me tegemoet met haar vuurrode haar. De Française is een opvallende verschijning in haar witte outfit en opmerkelijke haarkleur. Ze ziet er verzorgd uit. Haar lipstick is in precies dezelfde rode kleur. Omdat ze niet meer zo jong is, bewonder haar lef. Ze verteld me dat ze de kleur zelf heeft gemengd omdat die niet te koop is in Frankrijk. Wat knap. Chapeau!

Deze haarkleur moet ik wel linken aan de rode roos 'Dame du Coeur'. De naam (hartenvrouw) past bij deze vrouw. Rosa 'Dame du Coeur' heb al heel lang in mijn tuin. De roos is gezond en heeft donkergroen glimmend blad. De fluweelachtige rozen zijn perfect om alleen in een vaas te zetten.

Rood haar en een rode roos. The perfect match!  Missie geslaagd.
Volgende maand een andere vrouw met een andere haarkleur. Met dank aan de Française.

I have a fascination for women who dye their hair in a bright colour. So I started photographing this coloured hair and started my colour project, meaning that I link the particular hair colour with a plant in my garden. This time:

Red.
As I step out of an alley in Amsterdam, she approaches me with her red hair. The French lady is a striking appearance in her white outfit and remarkable hair colour. She looks stunning. Her lipstick exactly matches the colour of her hair. She is not young, so I admire her guts. She tells me that she mixed the colour herself because it is not for sale in France. Well done. Chapeau!

I have to link this hair colour to the red rose 'Dame du Coeur'. The name (queen of hearts) fits this woman. Rosa 'Dame du Coeur' has been in my garden for a long time. The rose is healthy and has dark green shiny leaves. The velvety roses are perfect in a vase just by themselves.

Red hair and a red rose. The perfect match! Mission accomplished.
Next month another woman with a different hair colour. Thanks to the Française.
